She Kicks a Beat: Maz’s 30 Seconds to Mars (Maz Pacheco interview)

Liverpool’s youngest ever debutant, England Under-19 defender Maz Pacheco, moved to Doncaster Rovers Belles on a deadline-day loan for the rest of the season and scored her first goal at home to Sunderland in September. Proud of her Filipino heritage, she describes trips to the Philippines as homecomings rather than holidays, and recalls getting off a twenty-three-hour flight and rushing to an arena to see Bruno Mars. Rachel Newborough runs the music on Doncaster game days, with Rhiannon Roberts barred for being too retro. At Liverpool she names Kate Longhurst as the one unafraid to bust a move, and would recruit the two Dutch players and Longhurst for any team cover version.
