Orlando Pride’s team DJ talks music and identity. Chioma Ubogagu was born in London, where her older brothers Oggy and Okwus played and Okwus gave her the Arsenal affinity she carried long before she wore the shirt; her first CDs were mixes her brother burned and labelled Chi’s Mix, given as birthday presents. The family left for Coppell, Texas when she was three, hence the #TexasForever in her bios and the Friday Night Lights lyric she chose to mark England’s SheBelieves win. In a dressing room holding Marta, Alex Morgan and Ali Krieger she has been playing the oldies, and she slips suggestions to Leah Williamson when Williamson has the aux cord. She has already won a World Cup with the United States Under-20s, and scored on her England debut in Austria.
