Saving Grace (cartoon strip by Steve English)

A four-panel comic strip in the junior section, drawn and written by contributor Steve English and, this issue, tied to the tournament the whole magazine is built around. Grace, the young goalkeeper the strip is named for, is talked into something by a friend on the strength of a promise that it will be better than the alternative, and the punchline arrives with a sign reading EURO FAN ZONE and a reaction that suggests the promise was oversold. It is drawn in the same bright, loose style as the rest of the Little Kicks pages and lettered entirely by hand.
