Safe Hands: Bethan Davies (London Bees and Leeds Ladies)
She Kicks, issue 37, September 2016 p.54
London Bees and Leeds goalkeeper Bethan Davies went in goal at six or seven for a local mixed team, the only girl in it, after their keeper moved away and everyone tried the position; she turned out to be alright and stayed. She rates shot stopping as her best attribute and describes herself, drily, as not too shabby. Her favourite save is the penalty from Karen Carney that knocked Chelsea out of the Continental Cup, the shoot-out in which London Bees became the first WSL 2 side to reach the semi-finals. Her favourite shirt is the gold London Bees one with her name on the back. She thanks Andy King, her first goalkeeping coach from about nine.
