Ross on Why She Joined City (Jane Ross interview)
She Kicks, issue 34, April 2016 pp.28–29
Signed on a two-year deal in November after three seasons and twenty-eight league goals in sixty-six games at Vittsjo, Jane Ross explains what took her to Manchester City: the facilities, the philosophy, daily training at the City Football Academy and the squad already assembled under Nick Cushing. She had watched the WSL from Sweden but found the tempo, intensity and physicality higher than expected. Sharing a flat with Scotland team-mate Jennifer Beattie and American Daphne Corboz has helped her settle, as has dressing-room banter from Jill Scott, Toni Duggan and Izzy Christiansen. Used to summer football in Scotland and Sweden, she is unworried about a Champions League campaign late in the season, and hopes Scotland can follow England’s example by qualifying.
