Road to EURO 2025 (UEFA Women’s EURO Qualifying)

She Kicks, issue 86, September 2024 pp.28–29

With nine places for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 already confirmed, She Kicks rounds up a group stage that saw hosts Switzerland joined by Germany, Spain, France, England, Denmark, Iceland, Italy and the Netherlands. England secured qualification with a goalless draw in Sweden, while Vivianne Miedema’s late equaliser condemned Norway to the play-offs. Denmark and Iceland delivered emphatic 3-0 wins to underline Nordic strength, and Italy topped their group at Finland’s expense. The remaining seven berths will be decided by two rounds of play-offs in October, with Wales, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland all still in contention, each needing to navigate a path that could ultimately pit British and Irish nations against each other for a place at next summer’s tournament.
