Returning Terriers: Glen Preston on Huddersfield Town’s promotion

An interview with Huddersfield Town manager Glen Preston, who with assistants Ashley Vickers and Fraser Green led the club to the Northern Combination title and promotion back to the Premier League after a fourteen-year absence. Preston says the race was tight for most of the season, with four or five teams well placed at Christmas, but that he believed they would win it from three or four games in, describing the feeling as waking a sleeping giant with a side that was more tactically astute and held 60 to 75 per cent possession most weeks. He became certain after a 5-3 win away at Middlesbrough in March. Preston tips Chorley for success on the strength of their home form and high pressing, and looks forward to giving the Premier League elite a headache or two.
