Reds Reign Again

Cliftonville held on to the Irish Cup with a 2-0 win over Linfield in October’s final at the Clearer Twist National Stadium, Windsor Park. Last year’s treble winners had lost the league-title decider to Glentoran six days earlier, but did all the necessary damage before the interval. Caitlin McGuinness, described here as a cup-final-goal specialist, opened the scoring with a composed piece of control and a finish, and defender Fi Morgan met a Kirsty McGuinness free-kick to head the second. Added to the League Cup won in June with a 4-2 defeat of Glentoran, it completed a double for 2025 and took the trophy back to Solitude again.
