Rangers Poster (Scottish Women’s Premier League winners 2022)

A full-page poster of the Rangers squad in front of a Scottish Women’s Premier League winners banner, pyrotechnics firing at either end and the club crest set into the corner. The news pages earlier in the issue supply what it commemorates: Rangers won the SWPL title for the first time in the club’s history, ending fourteen years of Glasgow City domination. It faces the Scottish Cup final report, in which Glasgow City lost to Celtic and finished a season without a trophy for the first time in seventeen years – so the two pages together mark the moment Scottish women’s football stopped being a one-club competition. No caption or team sheet is printed, the squad pictured as one. Photographs by Karl Newton and Alex Todd for Sports Press Photo.
