RAF FA Round-Up
She Kicks, issue 61, June 2020 p.7
A page on the RAF Football Association and its women’s representative side. Formed in 1920 and affiliated to the FA as a County-level organisation, the RAF FA is headquartered at RAF Brize Norton and provides structured football for all serving personnel and associated civilians, covering coaching, discipline, refereeing, communications, sponsorship and finance alongside Inter-Region and RAF Cup competitions. Its representative teams, comprising Men’s Development, Ladies, Men’s Officers and Veterans, compete in the Inter-Services against the Army and Royal Navy. The RAF Ladies Representative Team were the reigning Inter-Services champions from 2018-19, having beaten the Royal Navy and drawn with the Army. A full 2019-20 fixture list is printed, including a NATO AIRCOM seven-a-side tournament at RAF Cosford, a 2-1 friendly win over GB Police and a 1-0 Inter-Services win over the Army, before COVID-19 halted the campaign.
