Interview
Rachel Corsie
She Kicks, issue SK11, November 2012 pp.20–21
Catherine Etoe speaks to Glasgow City captain Rachel Corsie a week before an operation on the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear in her left knee, sustained in the second half of Scotland’s play-off defeat in Spain, which will sideline her for nine months. It is almost identical to the injury Ifeoma Dieke suffered at the Olympics; Corsie notes the irony that squad assessments had identified the pair as least likely to suffer one. She reflects on a year in which City won three domestic trophies unbeaten but exited Europe and Scotland missed the Euros in added time. An accountancy graduate, she admits envying full-time European opponents.
