Rachel Brown-Finnis column

Rachel Brown-Finnis’s regular column, written after a Caribbean honeymoon over the Christmas break and her return to England training at La Manga in Spain. The goalkeeper reports being pleased to see fresh faces in the squad, notes that she is now its most senior player, and welcomes working with former England centre forward and team-mate Marianne Spacey, newly appointed Assistant Coach, saying the new coaching philosophy has brought the whole team closer together. Away from the pitch she describes developments in her role at UCFB, where she is Sports Industry Liaison and Ambassador, and is heading up Project 47, a programme maintaining relationships with leading football and sports organisations to provide work experience placements for students, among them the Scottish Professional Football League, the Hong Kong FA, Wembley Stadium, The FA, the NFL, Orlando City and the BBC’s Football Focus.
