Quick Kicks: Top Ten with Katie Zelem (Manchester United)
She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 pp.54–55
Manchester United’s number ten takes on She Kicks’ ten-question slot ahead of her first WSL season with the club she came through as a girl. Katie Zelem, 23 and United’s 2018-19 Player of the Year after championship-winning spells with Liverpool and Juventus, describes herself as a technical player who wants the ball and wants to make things happen. She would have the team running out to AJ Tracey’s Ladbroke Grove, or rather bopping out to it, and would take Jess Sigsworth on a weekend away to the Bahamas mainly to carry her suitcase. Her father wanted her to play golf or tennis. The moment she would change is the FA Cup tie against Reading, when United twice led and could not hold on.
