Quick Kicks: Top Ten with Ji So-yun (Chelsea)
She Kicks, issue 63, October 2020 pp.14–15
The first South Korean to play in the FA Women’s Super League, and by 2020 the fulcrum of the Chelsea side, takes the magazine’s quickfire questionnaire and answers it with some charm. She describes herself as little, and a playmaker. She would run the team out to K-pop or to Joel Corry’s Head & Heart, watches herself back several times a week and supports Chelsea enough to break into a chant mid-answer. Her dream ticket is BTS. The games she would change are the opening-day draw with Manchester United, the Champions League semi-final against Lyon and the 2016 Wembley cup final lost to Arsenal. Her boots carry her family name and the word Jesus. Given a weekend away she would take Hannah Blundell and Drew Spence to Ibiza, because after seven years they know her well.
