A round-up of the opening weeks of the 2013-14 FA Women’s Premier League. In the Northern Division reigning champions Sheffield FC have begun with three straight wins but newcomers Stoke City top the table, while Newcastle United and last season’s runners-up Nottingham Forest are both unbeaten and Bradford City have taken a first point since returning to the league. In the Southern Division Gillingham lead from Tottenham as the only two sides yet to be beaten, though when they met in the League Cup the Gills won 7-2 and Spurs had two players sent off. Promoted Keynsham Town and Chesham United occupy the bottom two places and are still to get off the mark. Top scorers are listed, led by Mel Ball of Preston and Charlotte Gurr of Gillingham on six apiece.
