PNE’s Hat Trick Heroine (Sarah Chadwick)
She Kicks, issue 26, February 2015 p.45
Seventeen-year-old Sarah Chadwick became the youngest player in Preston North End’s history to score a first-team hat-trick, in a 6-2 win over Huddersfield. She has been at the club for about nine years, joining the Under-10s at nine, and calls the record an honour, all the more so for coming in her first season of adult football. Her dream has always been a scholarship to play in America, and she would like to play for England one day while insisting that reaching her potential and enjoying her football is what matters. She recounts other hat-tricks: a comeback treble on her development squad debut against Bury, a late winner against Manchester United in an Under-11 cup final, and three in ten minutes against Manchester City.
