Player Interview: Nicole Rolser — Distance Learning
She Kicks, issue 17, October 2013 pp.14–15
Tony Leighton interviews Liverpool’s 21-year-old German winger after an excellent first Women’s Super League season that has helped the Reds to a first Champions League qualification and a title challenge. Nicole Rolser says she arrived thinking only four or five teams stood out but has learned every side has its own qualities, naming Lincoln the hardest to break down. She watched every Germany game at the Euros and, having played at the 2012 under-20 World Cup, is not pressuring herself about a senior call-up. She plays down a top-scorer rivalry with Natasha Dowie, picking a 4-3 comeback win over Chelsea in which she scored the winner as the season’s most important game. She is in the second year of a business administration degree by distance learning, with exams posted to teachers in the UK.
