Player Interview: Angharad James — ‘Haz’ard

Emma Byrne interviews Bristol Academy’s Wales midfielder, describing her as combative, competitive, energetic and fiercely proud of her roots. Angharad James says Bristol have helped her development and that a 4-3 defeat by Liverpool was disappointing, but with Arsenal and Liverpool better placed the pressure is on them and a Champions League spot may hinge on the final game. She calls the FA Women’s Cup final a fantastic experience the young side did not do justice, blaming the enormity of the day. She gave up teaching the Spanish players Welsh, praises Laura Del Rio for oozing confidence and notes new signing Cristina Vega, known as Keka, is working on her English. Arsenal’s academy and training with Kim Little and Jordan Nobbs shaped her; her father, a rugby coach, toughened her up.
