Outside the Box

An interview with the Scotland forward who left Glasgow City for Norway’s SK Brann in summer 2024. Davidson, a two-time SWPL winner with 77 goals in 135 City appearances and once a Tesco delivery driver, admits she had always planned on the WSL instead, and that the first month in Bergen was hard: homesick, and struggling with the language. She now calls the move the best thing she has ever done, having won the Toppserien with 15 league goals. She talks about Martin Ho’s coaching, adapting to play in the pocket rather than only on the touchline, a sold-out 16,019 against Manchester United, Scotland’s Nations League promotion, and being bullied at school for playing football.
