Opta Stats: WSL Stat Attack, 2017/18 Season
She Kicks, issue 48, July 2018 pp.26–28
The last WSL season before the pyramid was rebuilt is set out in full by Opta across three pages: both divisions’ final tables, ten team leaderboards and fourteen player ones. Chelsea took WSL 1 unbeaten, thirteen wins and five draws from eighteen, ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, with Doncaster Rovers Belles winning WSL 2 by ten points from Brighton and Watford finishing bottom. Ellen White scored fifteen at a goal every seventy-seven minutes, ahead of Nikita Parris on eleven and Beth England on ten; Jordan Nobbs created fifty-six chances; Jennifer Beattie completed the most passes and Kim Little returned from injury to top passing accuracy at nearly eighty-nine per cent; Lauren Hemp attempted 124 dribbles. At the other end, Megan Walsh made a hundred and forty-four saves for a Yeovil side that won none of eighteen and conceded fifty-four.
