On The Move: Summer 2019 Transfers

She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 pp.43–49

She Kicks records one of the busiest transfer windows the English women’s game had seen, listing more than ninety moves made in June and July 2019 up to the 17th. The headline departures run both ways across the Channel: Nikita Parris to Lyon, Hedvig Lindahl and Dominique Bloodworth to Wolfsburg, against Jill Roord, Leonie Maier and Manuela Zinsberger arriving at Arsenal and Jackie Groenen, Mary Earps and Abbie McManus joining a newly promoted Manchester United. Ellen White and Aoife Mannion both leave Birmingham City for Manchester City. Below the WSL the list captures the churn that a new Championship created, with Lewes, Coventry United, Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United and Aston Villa all rebuilding squads wholesale, and a steady traffic of players returning from American universities.
