Olympic Challenge (Beth Bailey, Radcliffe Olympic)

Radcliffe Olympic vice-captain Beth Bailey describes turning a bottom-placed side into title hopefuls in the FAWPL Midland Division 1. Having played at Birmingham, Wolves, six years at Nottingham Forest and half a season with Liverpool in the WSL before taking a break, she returned to Radcliffe this season and credits every player’s commitment to doing their best and learning as much as possible tactically and technically. Of the cup shocks against Durham and Nottingham Forest she says any is fantastic, but beating local rivals who had dominated the county cup for years was a huge result, while beating any WSL team is a huge thing. A heavy fixture backlog from the cup run does not worry her. She rates Sheffield FC the most impressive opponents faced.
