Official Kicks: Magda Golba
She Kicks, issue 38, November 2016 p.39
Magda Golba joined her local boys’ team in Poland at twelve and trained with them for four years without being allowed to play games; at twenty she found a women’s team sixty miles away and her football began. She moved to England in 2009 and gave up playing for her career, then took a refereeing course in 2013 and came back to the pitch in a different role. She now referees men’s open age football in the Liverpool County Premier League on Saturdays and women’s football on Sundays across the FAWPL, the WSL Development League and the North West regional league, plus futsal in the men’s National League. Her goal is the WSL within three or four years and, one day, Wembley.
