Official Kicks: Lisa Rashid

An Official Kicks page with the Birmingham-based referee fresh from UEFA’s first Centre of Referee Excellence course in Switzerland, fourth official duties at the FA Women’s Cup final and officiating at the UEFA under-17 Euro finals. Lisa Rashid took a female-only refereeing course at fourteen after years of watching matches, and on her first day took charge of three games, two going well and one bringing complaints from parents; she decided two out of three was not bad and carried on, her parents taking turns to drive her. She began refereeing adult football at sixteen. Now a level 3 referee in the male game and an assistant on the Conference National, she referees in the FA WSL and is a FIFA assistant, having run the line for France against Brazil in March.
