Interview

Natalia & Laura Del Rio: Strikeforce

She Kicks, issue SK14, June 2013 pp.14–15

Bristol Academy’s second Spanish signing in a year is interviewed with Laura Del Rio translating. Natalia Teresa de Pablos Sanchon, who scored over 300 goals for Rayo Vallecano in a thirteen-year one-club career taking in three league titles and a cup, has four goals in four FA WSL games. She does not mind manager Mark Sampson calling her the female Michu, though she doubts she can match his tally, and says learning English matters because she intends to be a primary school teacher. She describes herself as fast, with vision, always thinking of scoring, and finds the FAWSL strong, fast and intense, requiring more running and defending than Spain. A facing page of quickfire questions has the pair rating each other on heading, pace, coffee and dancing.
