Hibernian captain and Scotland internationalist Joelle Murray’s View From The Field column on keeping a routine through lockdown: breakfast around nine, mid-morning exercise, lunch, work, Netflix, dinner and an evening household games night in which she is joint-top. She describes obtaining a Wattbike from CaveFit Edinburgh and varying daily workouts between HIIT bike sessions, road runs, AMRAP circuits and weights, having taken unexpected pleasure in the tranquillity of road running, including a nine-kilometre route taking in Arthur’s Seat. Murray logs training and wellness daily on the VCP platform provided through the Scottish Institute of Sport and also reports to Hibernian’s strength and conditioning coach, while the squad take on AMRAP and EMOM challenges and Siobhan Hunter ran a team Zoom quiz. She notes that Scottish clubs face a financial hit, though Hibernian’s recently confirmed part-time professional status stands.
