Mia Enderby Interview
She Kicks, issue 86, September 2024 pp.8–13
Liverpool forward Mia Enderby reflects on a breakthrough debut WSL season that helped fire the club to their highest league finish since their 2014 title win. The 19-year-old Bradford-born talent, who scored a viral Goal of the Season contender against Manchester City in the Conti Cup, discusses adapting to top-flight defenders, her bond with senior professional Gemma Bonner, and moving away from home for the first time. She opens up on a tough Bradford upbringing, the sacrifices made by her mother, and the influence of manager Matt Beard, whom she likens to a father figure. There’s also room for lighter territory: photoshoots, Xbox habits, wanting a Dobermann, and representing England at the Under-19 EUROs in Lithuania this summer.
