Meet the Gunners: Beth Mead and Lisa Evans on the Arsenal Squad

Arsenal’s two cup final debutants take the reader through the squad they are about to walk out with, and gleefully profile each other while they are at it. Alex Scott is Captain Fantastic, the longest-serving Gooner, playing what they note will be her last FA Cup final. Emma Mitchell is an absolute nutter and the team’s joker, even if nobody understands her most of the time. Leah Williamson is club DJ, with mixed reviews. Jordan Nobbs is their Duracell bunny who loves a good moan until she produces a worldie. Four of the squad are introduced simply as Euros champions. Vivianne Miedema gets three words – goals, goals, goals – and manager Joe Montemurro, nicknamed Pep, is a breath of fresh air.
