Martina Voss-Tecklenburg Interview (Germany head coach)
She Kicks, issue 54, June 2019 p.25
Germany’s new head coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg talks to She Kicks seven months after leaving her post with Switzerland to take over her home country. Asked to describe herself as a player, she says she was passionate, a bit crazy, full of motivation and always gave everything. On the job so far she reports it has been a pleasure working with the squad and the team behind the team, with fun from the beginning, and says she is proud to coach the national side. She credits Horst Hrubesch above anyone else for Germany’s recovery, saying he took the team in a difficult phase, restored their self-confidence and made football fun again. The standfirst notes she is the only former player in the set-up to have reached a World Cup final, losing to Norway in 1995.
