MAP Make It Third Time Lucky (Louise Chaves interview)

Marine Academy Plymouth captain Louise Chaves describes an unbeaten South West League Western Division title won by twelve points at the third attempt. MAP formed their ladies team in 2010 from players mostly at Saltash United, and many originals have stayed across four seasons, which she credits to a club that prides itself on being a MAP family. After two consecutive runners-up finishes, summer recruitment added an array of ages and depth, with younger players stepping up. Continuity matters, she argues, not necessarily the same starting eleven but depth and confidence in each other. Her most important win was coming from 2-1 down to beat local rivals Plympton 4-2, and Samantha Drewery, moved from midfield to striker, has scored 39 in 19 games.
