Managerial Promotions: Glen Harris (Doncaster Rovers Belles, promoted to FA WSL1)

The companion manager interview sees Glen Harris, the former Lincoln Ladies manager and retired police Superintendent, reflect on his first season at Doncaster Rovers Belles. Appointed less than a year earlier, the 56-year-old steered the club to promotion into The FA WSL 1 and missed the title only on goal difference. He calls the approach a real compliment given the club’s standing, singles out an away win at Yeovil as his performance of the season, and praises an inherited team spirit and togetherness. Harris pays tribute to founder Sheila Edmunds, director of football Julie Chipchase and backers Carl and Faye Lygo, whose investment is delivering a dedicated training base with strength, conditioning and recovery suites, accommodation and player employment, occupied from 1 January. Ten players will go full-time. He accepts WSL 1 experience must be recruited, and jokes about facing his daughter Martha at Liverpool.
