Looking Ahead: FA WSL 1 Season Preview

Three WSL 1 players and two supporters preview the new season. Liverpool’s Kate Longhurst acknowledges her side have been tipped for relegation after a big turnover of players but rates the squad brought in, and wants to settle in one position after playing everywhere but right-back and goalkeeper. Emily Simpkins, the first full-time professional at Doncaster Rovers Belles, asks only for regular fixtures without long breaks. Arsenal’s Jemma Rose expects the Gunners to compete for the title after strengthening in key areas. Reading supporter Emma Jocelyn is hugely excited by her club’s promotion and the prospect of facing Fran Kirby’s Chelsea, while Chelsea fan Emma Wallace is confident of another title and rates Karen Carney’s signing.
