The chant from the Hibernian dressing room after the SWPL Cup final was that there is only one Lizzie Arnot, and she had just scored five in a major final a year after an anterior cruciate ligament injury. That injury cost her more than a season: she was set for Scotland’s Euro 2017 squad and on the brink of signing for Manchester City when she fell over in training and heard the noise. She stayed grounded through rehabilitation by baking cakes for her team mates and going to every match, and admits that early swelling on her return made her wonder whether the knee would ever feel normal. It does now. She came off the bench in Poland, assisted, and Scotland won.
