Little Kicks: Star Six with Nicola Docherty (Rangers and Scotland)
She Kicks, issue 69, October 2021 pp.68–69
A thirteen-year-old from Aberdeen FC Colts puts six questions to the Rangers and Scotland full-back she has followed since her Glasgow City days. Nicola Docherty started playing at six, stayed in a boys’ team until she was eleven, and says that pulling on the Scotland shirt on match day fills her and her family with pride; having supported Rangers as a child, playing for them makes it a dream come true twice over. Match day means toast, beans and eggs. Away from football she loves speciality coffee shops. Her idols are her parents, who drove her round the country. A panel records that the Scottish youth regional leagues are named after internationals, and that the Under-13 Nicola Docherty League has seven clubs.
