Little Kicks: Star Six with Georgia Stanway (Imogen Groves asks the Manchester City forward)

Manchester City’s forward answers six questions set by eleven-year-old Imogen Groves, who picked her as a favourite for the way she sees a game, makes and reads runs, and never shirks a challenge. Stanway says she likes being the youngest in the England squad, though the young ones have to collect the balls and carry the kit. She had no real choice about football: with three older brothers she joined in from the age of three or had the ball kicked at her. Missing parties never bothered her – she disliked social events and would take a ball to family gatherings – and she rejects the language of sacrifice. She played county cricket for Cumbria for four years as a wicketkeeper, and is working on coaching badges while eyeing the police or the army.
