Little Kicks: Roy Of The Rovers – Rocky (book feature and giveaway)

The Little Kicks page gives itself over to a book rather than to readers’ photographs this issue, and the reason is a genuine first: Rocky, the final title of the rebooted Roy of the Rovers series’ second season, is the first in the strip’s sixty-five-year history to be told from the perspective of a female footballer. Rocky Race is Roy’s younger sister, sick of being known through him, fed up with school and beginning to have panic attacks – and, some say, a better footballer than her brother. The magazine sets out the premise, notes that the author is Tom Palmer of the Foul Play and Football Academy series, and offers ten copies to readers who email before 20 October, ahead of publication on 29 October. The Saving Grace strip runs along the foot of the same page.
