Little Kicks: England Star (Zoe Nicholls asks Jill Scott)
She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 p.68
Ten-year-old Zoe Nicholls travelled to Lyon with her mother to watch England lose the semi-final to the United States, and was especially sad for her favourite player. She bounced back to win a tournament at St George’s Park days later, inspired by a good luck message, and dedicated her medal to Jill Scott and the team. She admires Scott because Scott was once rejected by a regional talent club and thought about giving up, then read that her friends had been picked for England and she had not, kept working, and became one of England’s most-capped players. She Kicks put Zoe’s three questions to Scott, who names winning the league with Manchester City after fifteen years of waiting, admits to falling over a lot, and recommends pasta and chicken.
