Little Kicks: Born Kicking With Ava Kenwrick-Lapthorne (age 7) And Phoebe Matfin (age 9)

Two readers share the slot. Seven-year-old Ava Kenwrick-Lapthorne from Birmingham plays up front for Stourbridge Under-8s so she can score goals, supports Birmingham City’s men and Manchester United’s women, and names Ella Toone three times over – the player she would most like to meet, play alongside, and win the WSL. Nine-year-old Phoebe Matfin from Newcastle-upon-Tyne plays for four teams plus her school, prefers the wings so she can drive forward at pace, and has already met her favourite player, Lauren Robson, who used to coach her. Her answer on shirt colour is the best in the issue: it is not the colour but the badge, and her club shirts carry Teenage Cancer Trust, which makes her think of the uncle she lost.
