Lionesses Lift Arnold Clark Cup 2023
She Kicks, issue 78, April 2023 pp.52–53
England retained the Arnold Clark Cup on home soil with three wins from three, beating Korea Republic 4-0, Italy 2-1 and Belgium 6-1 across Milton Keynes, Coventry and Bristol. Sarina Wiegman rotated freely, handing starts and minutes to a youthful contingent, and left the tournament with her side still unbeaten in 29 games since she took charge. Georgia Stanway’s penalty opened the scoring against Korea Republic and Lauren James scored her first England goal in the same match; Rachel Daly scored both against Italy and Leah Williamson headed the second against Belgium at Ashton Gate. Chloe Kelly took the Golden Boot with three goals, while James was named Player of the Tournament. Millie Bright and Daly are pictured with their medals and the trophy.
