#Lionesses: England players preview Euro 2013
She Kicks, issue SK15, July 2013 pp.10–13
Catherine Etoe corners seven England players before they board the plane to Sweden. Goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, who played for Linkopings before joining Lincoln, describes the host city’s parks, coffee shops and a hilltop cafe like a lighthouse, and admits to taking four pairs of boots and four pairs of gloves. Jordan Nobbs listens to deliberately slow music to stay relaxed. Anita Asante, now at Gothenburg, praises a Swedish culture that treats male and female athletes alike. Toni Duggan hopes to pack a gold medal for the journey home. Dunia Susi recalls first playing full back at the Nordic Cup. Laura Bassett is renowned for travelling with her own kettle, mug and tea bags. Steph Houghton, superstitious about boots and match-day routine, will keep room-mate Ellen White supplied with music.
