Leah Leading Hampton (Leah Ambridge interview)
She Kicks, issue 26, February 2015 pp.26–27
Leah Ambridge, on course to lead Hampton and Richmond Borough to the Greater London League Division 2 South title in her first season in charge, describes a squad that has accepted an intense new approach along with changes of players and formation. Having previously coached at Watford, Queens Park Rangers and Bedfont Sports, she praises a passionate and skilful group with drive and enthusiasm to learn. She recounts two dramatic cup shoot-outs: a 120-minute tie against Tower Hamlets settled by four penalties and two top-drawer saves from Emma Marlow, with new signing Bianca Underhill keeping her cool, and a Christmas Special giant-killing of Enfield from a division above, captain Lisa Traynor converting the decider. Focus and creativity, she says, will decide promotion.
