Lauryn Thrill
Her Goal, issue 5, April 2026 pp.45–50
Chris Brookes talks to the Texas-born winger who has signed her first professional contract with North Carolina Courage rather than taking the college route to Florida State. Thompson explains the English side of her, a father from Birmingham and grandparents in Lichfield half an hour from St. George’s Park, and how a spell going back and forth between United States and England youth camps ended with her choosing the Lionesses. Named after Lauryn Hill, she grew up mostly in Indiana. She recalls a rollercoaster Under-17 World Cup in the Dominican Republic, scoring against Kenya after a meniscus tear and then suffering concussion, and names Kerolin as the style she hopes to mirror.
