Laura Harvey interview: Holding The Reins (Seattle Reign)

An interview with Laura Harvey, conducted at her West Seattle home during a visit to the Pacific North West, as the former Arsenal manager enters a second season at Seattle Reign following a table-topping start. Harvey explains that as Head Coach and General Manager she focuses on contracts, player recruitment and the players’ off-field needs while owner Bill Predmore handles the business side. She contrasts the depth of talent available, saying that at home you deal with a puddle of players but here it is an ocean, and argues that attracting Nadine Angerer, Vero Boquete and Kim Little shows where players want to be. She says the difference this season is having match winners, notes that American players are taught how to win rather than how not to lose, and calls Kim Little and Jess Fishlock the Brits on tour.
