Laura Wienroither is looking forward to England as the perfect host, to her parents staying a fortnight and two friends flying in for the opening game against the hosts at Old Trafford – a match she expects everyone to assume Austria will lose, while pointing out that they are good at defending and can be annoying. She is funny about the language: Beth Mead’s accent was the hardest, then Jennifer Beattie’s and Leah Williamson’s, and she once misread a first-week conversation between all three entirely. She has also come to love eggs and beans. On Austria she wants people to see a team completely committed to each other.
