Arsenal won the FA WSL Umbro Fives at Wembley, beating Bristol Academy in the final, then took an eleventh FA Women’s Cup at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena through goals from Scottish internationals Julie Fleeting and Kim Little, with Jen Beattie a late substitute. An FA restructure creating 62 Talent Development Centres closed 22 existing centres, causing upset. Girls and boys will be allowed to play in the same teams at Under-12 and Under-13 level. Sunderland took the Premier League title by seven points, and Olympique Lyonnais became the first French winners of the Champions League, beating Turbine Potsdam 2-0.
