A two-page news round-up led by Kim Little’s win in the inaugural PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year award, presented in London on 28 April. The 22-year-old Scot, in her sixth season at Arsenal, polled ahead of Jess Fishlock, Jodie Taylor, Toni Duggan and club-mates Gemma Davison and Jordan Nobbs; former captain Faye White praised her pace over the first five yards and the way she filled Kelly Smith’s boots. The 2015 World Cup qualifying draw puts England and Wales together in Group 6, Scotland and Northern Ireland with Sweden in Group 4, and the Republic of Ireland with Germany in Group 1. Also covered: the BBC’s sixteen live Euro 2013 games, a 3-3 USA draw with Germany in Offenbach, the FA’s Football v Homophobia campaign, Everton’s reserve-section treble and the NWSL kick-off.
