A Group H interview, and the preview’s only manager interview, with the Leicester-born coach of Korea Republic. Bell, a Champions League winner at 1.FFC Frankfurt, is heading to a first World Cup in a three-decade career and calls it a dream about to come true, noting that as a boy he never imagined it would be a women’s tournament. He is candid about his squad’s fitness problems, describing the care lavished on Ji So-yun’s troublesome ankle only for her to be injured again in a tackle 20 minutes into a club game. He also addresses the physical gap to leading nations, which prompted the recall of the six-foot Park Eun-sun.
