Kim Little: Little Looking to Reign in USA

She Kicks, issue SK19, February 2014 p.30

Olivia Blair profiles Kim Little as the 23-year-old Scotland midfielder prepares to leave Arsenal for Seattle Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League. Little’s Arsenal haul ran to five league titles, two WSL Continental Cups, three FA Cups and a Premier League Cup, following a treble at Hibernian; she was one of two Scots in the Great Britain squad at the 2012 Olympics, FA Women’s Player of the Year in 2010 and the first recipient of the PFA Women’s Player of the Year award. She says she chose a league she believes more competitive game to game, is in daily contact with Seattle coach Laura Harvey, and expects to play the same number ten role alongside Jess Fishlock, Megan Rapinoe and Sydney Leroux. Little insists her exit was unrelated to Arsenal’s transition, reports Scotland four wins from four in World Cup qualifying, and cites Julie Fleeting as her role model.
