Keep Kicking (Editor’s Letter)

She Kicks, issue 49, September 2018 p.3

Jen O’Neill opens on a dizzying summer of players, managers and clubs all changing leagues, with the new-look WSL and Championship about to begin. Her tone has shifted from the previous issue’s criticism: she notes that going into the final international window with Wales, Scotland and England all still in World Cup contention must in part be down to the WSL and the clubs supporting home nations talent. The Young Lionesses have reached an Under-20 World Cup semi-final as she writes, which she says is tipping the magazine over the edge with anticipation for France 2019. She enjoyed the WNL4Grenfell charity match, where Kelly Smith was as good as ever, and introduces a new Little Kicks section for younger readers.
