Karl Keen To Continue Us’ Development (Karl Milgate Coach Interview)

Oxford’s new first team coach welcomes a competition without promotion or relegation as room to challenge the club’s young players and gauge where they sit on the pathway to WSL 2 in September, while insisting the club will set its own targets and be under pressure to meet them. On the 2-0 FA Cup defeat by Coventry United he points to three key moments going against Oxford and to a second-half performance showing character and togetherness. What has pleased him most is the squad’s desire to improve on last season and its commitment to an arduous pre-season run by assistant Vlad Cintic and goalkeeper coach Alan Foster. He sees himself as a bridge between the under-20s and the first team, and hopes to see crowds over a thousand again.
